Opening Plenary: No Equity Without Data Equity with Dr. Ninez Ponce
Limited race/ethnicity disaggregation reporting in health data hinders the opportunity to create outreach and interventions and inform policy investments in communities made “invisible” in the data. Drawing upon her experience with the California Health Interview Survey, the Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Data Policy Lab and the Filipinx/a/o Community Health Association, Dr. Ponce laid out a community-centered vision for stronger data systems grounded in health equity and will provide recommendations for next steps. Then, TC Duong and Fontante joined Dr. Ponce for a fireside chat.
