Using Electronic Health Data for Community Health - Part 1
HIPAA is often considered an impediment to sharing health data between health systems and public health departments. A new report funded by the de Beaumont Foundation and produced by Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in partnership with the Network of Public Health Law, Using Electronic Health Data for Community Health, provides a roadmap for how to overcome perceived barriers to using electronic health data for public health activities.
